Maintaining Core GP Services

Please click here for information from our Doctors on how they can maintain the service they provide to you.

GP Net Earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (eg average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in St Andrews Medical Practice in the last financial year was £50,098 before tax and national insurance.  This calculation is for 1 full time GP, 8 part-time GPs and 1 Locum GP who worked in the practice for more than six months.

Private Fees

Please click here for a list of non NHS services and their fees.

All Surgery staff are trained to deal with all information with total confidentiality. This extends to being unable to pass on even the most apparently trivial information to friends and relatives. If you wish information about yourself to be given to a third party, please give your doctor written authority.

Please be assured that all medical records are treated with full confidentiality under the Data Protection Act which also covers computerised records.

Please click here for a leaflet explaining how your records are used.

If you are at the Surgery and would like to speak to a receptionist in private, please advise them and a separate room can be made available for you.

Complaints and Comments

We always try to provide the best services possible but there may be times when you feel this has not happened. You can talk to the Practice Manager or contact her in writing. We have a complaints procedure, which a member of staff can explain for you. Similarly, please feel free to use our suggestion box in the foyer to tell us your ideas and any comments that you may have about the Surgery. Please click here for a copy of our complaints procedure.

Zero Tolerance against rude or aggressive behaviour

St Andrews Medical Practice operates the Zero tolerance NHS policy and will not tolerate rude, aggressive or abusive behaviour to any members of staff.  Any such behaviour may result in the patient being reported to Police for further action and removal from our practice list.
